La rivière Pétrusse prend naissance à la confluence de plusieurs ruissellements de sources situées dans le Dippecherbösch, en aval d'une crête boisée entre Dippach et Mamer, à une altitude moyenne de 300 mètres non loin de la ferme Beauforterhof.
